Conference Language

The official language in Nigeria is English. The conference will be in English. There is no translation services.

Time Zone in Nigeria is West African Standard Time (GMT +1) (UTC +1)

Temperature

Abeokuta has a tropical climate, and the temperature typically ranges from around 33°C, rarely falling below 31°C or exceeding 34°C. The weather in December, month of the Conference, is roughly from 23°C to 22°C, rarely falling below 19°C or exceeding 25°C. The lowest daily average low temperature is 22°C on 31 December.

Currency. 

The naira is Nigeria’s national currency. However, USD is commonly accepted, in airports, hotels, and tourist destinations. The exchange rates used will vary, though, so it’s worth checking you’re getting a fair deal before you decide to spend your dollars in Nigeria. There exists an active black market for currency conversion. However, if you’re changing money in Nigeria, you should only do so through a bank or official money exchange. Otherwise stop by your local Bank. Credit and debit cards are generally accepted in larger Nigerian towns and cities, especially in tourist areas. In places used to foreign visitors, major providers such as Visa, Mastercard are accepted in ATMs, shops and restaurants. Nigeria ATMs are EMV-compliant. Amex is accepted in Major establishments.

Invitation Letter

Invitation letters for Visa purposes are available only to registered participants. To issue an invitation letter is available through registration process.

Visa

Citizens of Economic of West African States (ECOWAS) do not require entry permits into Nigeria. All visitors not exempted from entry permits are advised to apply and obtain appropriate visas from the nearest Nigerian Mission – Embassy, High Commission or Consulate before entry into Nigeria as visas cannot be issued at the port of entry. Early application is advisable to avoid delay.
